Timeline for Diploma Project

Timeline(end of project 10th October 2010)

1^st Week  ( 11^th july –

10^th July and 11^th July

-           Research on the internet about waste, textiles techniques used to combine waste, products made out of waste. Look up blogs and works of various artists.

-          Reasearch on Off-loom Techniques.

12^th July Monday

-          Visit Creative Bee.Meet Bina Rao and discuss on:

Whether the collection will be one time or will it be repeated.

Is it possible to get a loom as well as a artisan, so that I could explore with weaving.

What is the client-profile?

Who will buy the product?

-          Look at the waste. More detailed observation of the products that are available to understand the type of work that Creative Bee does.

-          Ask for permission to visit the production unit which is 30kms away from the city.

13^th July Tuesday

-          Visit to the production unit.

14^th July Wednesday

-          Spend the day in the studio - Creative Bee shop and obsearve the customers. This is to understand the target segment better.

-          Interact with the customer.

15^th July Thursday

-          Meet the existing in-house designers and see if it is possible to collaborate with them to produce the final garments.

16^th July Friday

-          Start exploring various techniques to combine the waste.




26th July - 10th August ( 15 days) ...... should be less than 20 days.......

-  Getting the designs approved by the client and collect more fabric.
-  Chose around 8 designs and sketch more options.
-  Create surfaces, explore different techniques to combine the fabric.
-  Finalize the surfaces.


11th August - 31st August  ( 25 days approx)


- Create the final surfaces




1st September - 30th September


-  Working on prototypes, patterns and the final garments.
